Urbana moving forward the 2030 Agenda
for sustainable development

Urbana is a company that believes in sustainable development and that has a strong focus on and respect for the environment in the categories in which it operates: building, city, and industry. To achieve this goal, the company has the priority to make people understand the advantages and opportunities of IoT technology, thanks to which efficient results can be obtained through a significant reduction in consumption, improving people’s wellness.

Urbana, given its goal of a sustainable approach, supports what is proposed by Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. It is a set of guidelines and actions signed in September 2015 by the governments of 193 UN member countries, with the aim of providing a framework for reorienting humanity towards sustainable development through 17 goals.
Urbana, with its proposals and solutions, is identified in some of the 17 points drawn up.

Affordable and clean energy. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy.

The service that Urbana proposes falls in this direction and makes use of European incentives to reduce consumption, evolve improvement services to increase people’s wellbeing. Urbana’s proposal consists in the installation of devices that constantly monitor and control the performance of power, water, and gas with the help of an intelligent system. The data are processed regularly and periodically transmitted to the user in a report that gives the possibility to improve and reduce consumption, intervening on the most critical areas.

Industries, innovation and infrastructure. Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

To promote an inclusive and sustainable industrialization in support of innovation, aimed at increasing efficiency in the use of resources and adhering to the use of cleaner and healthier technologies and industrial processes for the environment, Urbana provides its monitoring and control identifying unnecessary waste and consumption. The solution proposed gives the opportunity to view the use of machinery, analysing the actual use and consumption to be able to make improvements to the system. It is possible to study an IoT Platform solution as an operating system to correlate interventions related to security and sustainability aspects.

Sustainable cities and communities. Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

Light monitoring and control systems, if installed in sports fields, car parks and in the form of street lighting, promote a reduction in electricity and consequently less pollution. Another aspect that should not be underestimated in cities are parking lots. Urbana in fact proposes a solution with which it is possible to identify the presence or absence of a vehicle in a specific area. This precise and reliable system allows less circulation of cars to search for a parking space which results in lower CO2 emissions and therefore less pollution.
